BUDGET Photography Gear

Welcome to another exciting episode of "BUDGET Photography Gear SHOOTOUT," where I had the opportunity to team up with Sanjay Jogia, a Canon Explorer of Light in the UK! In episode 18, we put budget-friendly photography gear to the test to see what kind of magic we could create. Spoiler alert: The results were impressive!

Before we dive into the gear and the photo shoot, let me tell you a little bit about Sanjay. He's a phenomenal photographer with a keen eye for detail, and I was thrilled to have him on board for this episode.

So, what gear did we use for this budget shootout? First up, we had the Canon EOS R50, a new entry-level camera that packs a punch in terms of features and ease of use. Paired with the R50, we used the 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 kit lens, which offers a versatile zoom range for various shooting scenarios.

The location for our shoot was none other than WPBI, inside the Canon Bay. It was a fantastic setting, and our model for the day was absolutely stunning. To light up our scene, we used some named continuous lights, which added a touch of drama to our shots.

As for the rules of the shootout, each photographer had the freedom to shoot to their heart's content. After capturing our images, we went on to edit them and showcase our favorite shots. And here's the fun part – you, our audience, get to vote on which photographer crushed the challenge!

During the shoot, I played around with different lighting techniques, including hard light, to highlight our model's features. We experimented with various poses and angles, aiming to showcase the versatility of the budget gear we were using.

Sanjay was a true sport and even attempted an English accent for the shoot, which added a touch of humor to the episode. We shared laughs, learned from each other, and ultimately created some stunning images that highlight the power of budget photography gear.

Now, I'm sure you're curious to see the final results. We've shared two of our favorite shots – one from each photographer – and we want to know which one you think takes the cake. So don't forget to cast your vote in the comments section!

As I wrap up this episode, I can't help but think of how much fun we had during this budget photography gear shootout. It just goes to show that you don't need to break the bank to create beautiful, professional-looking images. Until next time, happy shooting!
