Wedding Photography: What to Bring to a Wedding | What's in My Bag (Gear List)
My name is Vanessa Joy and I'm a wedding photographer. Today, I want to share with you what I wear to weddings and what I bring in my bag. I've got this cool outfit from Betta brand, and it even has pockets! But enough about my outfit, let's talk about the gear.
I have a Porter case, which is a little different from your average camera bag. The handle pops up when you pinch these two yellow things and when you roll it, you do it like this. It makes it easier to get around with all my gear, and it's actually a hand cart!
In my bag, I have a lot of things that are essential for a wedding day. The first thing is the wedding schedule, which has all the important information like locations and times of events, as well as a family list. I've also included a link in the description where you can download my free posing inspiration guide.
I'm currently shooting with the Canon 1DX Mark II, and I keep it packed without a lens on it. I have a Kawash strap that I shoot with one body and I switch between seven lenses. I bring a 100mm 2.8 macro lens for photographing rings, a 135mm 2.0, 24mm, 50mm, and a 70-200mm. My most used lens is the 51.2 because it's versatile and can be used for anything from families to landscapes to nighttime shots.
In addition to my lenses, I also carry an extra battery, pro photo transmitters, memory cards, a Pro photo A1 with a diffuser and wide angle thing on top, gels, and a bounce card. All of these items play a big role in making my wedding photography experience smooth and seamless.
That's it for what's in my bag, I hope you enjoyed this tour and maybe even learned a thing or two about wedding photography gear. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below.
