Best Canon Lenses

I am a photographer and I want to share with you my most used lens - the 50-millimeter lens. If you're looking to buy a prime lens and don't know where to start, this is the one you should go for. Most manufacturers have a 50-millimeter lens in their lineup, and some might have 52 or 55-millimeter lenses but I stick to the 50-millimeter because it can be used for almost everything.

First and foremost, this lens is great for portraits. Whether it's individual people or couples, you can get a variety of shots with this lens. I like to use it for family photos and even church photos as it gives a bit of compression to the shots and makes everyone look more together.

Another great use for the 50-millimeter lens is shooting details. From tablescapes to invitations, shoes, and jewelry, this is my go-to lens for all my morning prep and reception photos. It's also great for landscapes, despite the assumption that you need a wide lens for large areas. I even use it for nighttime photos and run escapes.

One of the benefits of using a prime lens is the low aperture, which gives a shallow depth of field and a beautiful, dreamy background. Prime lenses also have a faster-focusing ability, which is why I love using the 50-millimeter lens for my family photo sessions.

Recently, I have been using the Canon EOS R with this lens and I am blown away by the head and eye detection capabilities. The focus is quick and the photos are sharp and crisp. The 50-millimeter lens is also lighter than the 70-200 lens, which makes it easier to carry around. From shooting in a dark room lit only by blue and red lights to photographing a DJ in motion, to capturing headshots and an engagement session, this lens proved its versatility and usefulness.

One of the most significant advantages of the 85mm f/2.0 is its ability to perform well in low light. With its fast autofocus and image stabilization, I was able to capture sharp and clear images even in challenging lighting conditions. The lens's half-life size macro function and minimum focusing distance of 1.15 feet also made it possible to get up close and personal with my subjects.

I was impressed by the lens's speed and flexibility. With its aperture at f/2.0, I could create a beautiful bokeh, but I also had the freedom to zoom in and out and change the aperture to suit different shooting situations. The lens's control ring and custom settings added an extra level of customization and control to my shooting experience.

Overall, the Canon RF 85mm f/2.0 IS STM lens is an excellent choice for amateur photographers, casual shooters, street photographers, and anyone looking for a prime lens that's fast, low-light, and budget-friendly. The lens's image stabilization, maximum magnification, and fast autofocus make it a great option for capturing images with sharp details and beautiful bokeh. Whether you're shooting in a studio or on the street, this lens will help you capture stunning images with ease.
